How to remove kitchen cabinets

We're remodeling our kitchen and we have cabinet section that sticks out from the wall and we want to remove it.  I removed the granite countertop and the backer board, but I don't see anyway to remove the counter effectively.  I removed three screws from the adjoining cabinet section but I can't tell where else it's screwed in.  Obviously it's screwed in to the wall but I don't see how.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello Csommer!

Cabinets are typically attached through the wall and into the studs using screws through the inside-back frame of the cabinet.

You will also find screws that run across, through the cabinet facing into the cabinet facing of the adjacent cabinets. These screws ensure that the facings are snug and that cabinets remain aligned with the adjacent cabinet after they are anchored to the wall.

You will likely find that standard Phillips screws and bits WERE NOT used to install your cabinets.

MOST LIKELY you'll find T-15 "star" bits and screws were used.
