How would i get two head-sized holes into the middle upper top of a 4x4 thin wood?

Welcome to The Community!!!

 

To cut shapes into, or in your case, out of plywood you will need a Jigsaw.

Jigsaws use a small, reciprocating blade that will allow you to cut curves as well as straight lines in relatively thin wood, plastic and metal. 

 

Notice in the picture above the hole that was drilled into the wood. In this picture, the hole is right behind the electric cord of the saw. This hole provided a starting point for cutting out the hole.

 

Use a standard drill with about a 1/2 inch drill bit to provide the start point.
