I can't seem to get my aloe pups to plump up

I transplanted these from the mother a few weeks ago. I watered them twice. They are sitting in a window. The leaves are skinny. I have another aloe plant and I can't get those leaves to fatten up either. What do I need to do? They are all in cactus soil.

Hi Caisha.

Thank you for your question and welcome to our community.

I noticed that you have your Aloe Vera plant inside.  How much light does it receive?  The Aloe Vera does best in a bright indirect light source or in a morning sun/shade environment outside.  This a succulent that needs to receives its energy from the sun for its best performance.

Be sure to water your Aloe Vera 1-2 times a week, depending on the weather.  The soil should be constantly damp, but not wet.

I noticed that the tips of some of your aloe spears are brown top. This can be caused from under watering your plant or from leaving water to evaporate in the saucer that the plant sits in.  As the water evaporates, salts are left behind which can cause the tips of your plants to look brown and burned.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
