I need to replace the pull chain switch on a Hampton Bay ceiling fan.

I have a Hampton Bay ceiling fan SKU: 762-425, Model: AC-552, UPC: 792145350965.  The pull chain for the fan became stuck and eventually pulled all the way out of the pull chain switch.  Looks like I need to replace the pull chain switch and get a new pull chain.

I've been able to remove the pull chain switch from the switch housing, but failed to record how the wires connected to the switch.  The four wires are colored purple, brown, gray and black.  The connectors on the switch are labeled L, 1, 2 and 3.  Can you offer any help on how the wires connect to the switch?  Thanks much.

When I went to HD to buy the switch a kind gentleman looked online for me and found the answer:

L = Black, 1 = Grey, 2 = Brown, and 3 = Purple.  I installed it like that and everything worked.  Yeah!
