Install Crown on In Stock Cabinets

We installed the white Instock American Classic Cabinets and want to install the crown.

The crown that they sell to match comes in 90" run and we need at least liek 110-115".  THere is a seam which looks terrible. What do you recommend for this problem. Would regular trim work and look okay? I do not want to purchase all new trim for a 3rd time!

Also, How do you recomend to install the crown to the cabinets? The cabinets do not hit the ceiling.

Hello price0909 and welcome to The Community.  We are glad that you are here.

Congratulations on installing the in-stock cabinets!  I understand your frustration on trying to complete the project when installing the crown moulding.

Long run.jpg

This example shows a long run of cabinets on the left side that  most likely requires more than one strip of crown moulding.  Check out page 5 of this CABINETRY INSTALLATION MANUAL for installing the moulding.

As for needing two (2) pieces of crown moulding, consider centering a “long” portion in the middle of the run of cabinets and mitering (diagonal cuts not vertical cuts) the end pieces.  Align the mitered cuts over a cabinet for a more finished look as shown below:

Best wishes on your project.
