Install Jeld Wen sliding door in Existing Opening Concrete Block Wall

I purchased a Jeld Wen Premium Atlantic Vinyl 3800 sliding door 79.5 x 71.5.  The opening in the concrete Block wall is 81 x 74, What should I use and how should I install the door including the  and any flashing that is needed.  The door has the nailing fin attached

Dan, I would go every 12 to 18 inches, that should secure it nicely.

Hello Dan, yes that would be sufficient. Also make sure you are caulking & insulating.

Doors in, looks good now all I need to do is trim out the exterior and interior.  Would 1x4 pressure treated be a good choice for the exterior frame?

Hello dpage, congrats in getting your door installed!

 

You can go with treated lumber, but since you have a vinyl door installed, I would suggest going with Azek trim boards, these trim boards come in a variety of widths, and you can also rip the boards to a specific width you need. They are smooth on one side and have a wood grain on the other.
