Install Shelves question which size wood screw to use that goes throught bracket to wood

Hi, i think this is the right forum
I am trying to install some adjustable shelves in a kitchen
I just bought Closetmaid track shelves ( I will post a photo) and some white wood boards for the shelves and the shelving brackets. My question is -- once I put the shelf brackets, i should screw two screws through the bracket into the back of the shelves- what size screw shoudl I use?

Hello Boris123 and welcome to the Community.

I spoke with the manufacturer, Closetmaid about your project.  They do not recommend the use of these brackets and standards, with wood shelves.  They are intended to be use exclusively with the wire shelf system.

Wood shelves should be mounted using BRACKETS that are secured directly to the wall and preferably into the studs.

I realize that this system is not as adjustable as the wire system.  If you need the flexibility of the Closetmaid standards, I would use the wire shelves, instead of wood shelves.

Thank you for your inquiry.
