Installing door in basement

I'm remodeling my basement and need to install 2 doors.  The ceiling height in 7'2".  Any suggestions for doors.  The standard size in 80", but I was wondering if these could be cut or need to be custom ordered to fit a shorter rough opening.

Hello and welcome to the community.

If the doors are interior doors, and the frame work is still exposed..Then you should still be able to install them, but keep in mind that the frame trim might be pretty close to the ceiling.  You don't want to lower the door down because you might run the risk of someone banging their heads as they pass through.

Another possibility would be to raise or change the headers from the top of the frame to a position that will take the whole door frame.  If you find that you might want to "trim" a little off the bottom of the door/frame - keep in mind that hollow doors only have an11/2 or 2 inch structural frame on the inside.

I hope this helped you out a little bit.
