Insulation batting

I need to install some insulation in the roof of my attic. The batting I bought is 16" and the space between the joists is 22". Does insulation batting come in 22" I only the 16". Is there a simple solution?

The 24 inch roll insulation will fit between 24 inch on center studding or rafters. It is cut to allow for the thickness of the studs.

Hello BonsaiBarry,

Welcome to the community and thanks for your question!

Not sure if you saw some of the other batting we carry in our insulation aisle that may just be a better fit than your 16" batting.

One we carry shown and linked below, is a 23 in. width R-13 size.

Owens Corning EcoTouch R-13 23 in. Batts in Bag Insulation

Having a wider insulation would be wiser than doubling up your existing batting. You can simply cut less in some areas, but with an extra 1 width, the 23" batting will give you better insulation.

Although the one shown above is R-13, we do carry thicker R-19 options as well.

Use this or blown-in insulation to get the job done right in your attic.
