Is it possible to install siding on single wall construction?

We have a large plantation style home and the previous owners added two very large bed rooms onto the back of the house.  These rooms are only single wall construction, which is fine most of the time.  However, it is getting cooler now and the rooms are getting kind of chilly at night; we live in Hawaii, so it never gets extremely cold or anything like that.  Was just wondering if installing siding; mayby vinyl or aluminum could be an option?  The optimum result would be to keep the rooms a bit more temperature controlled and of course somewhat soundproof as well.  Any suggestions/ideas?

Aloha Lanigirl and welcome to the community!

You have a few options, but not knowing your code requirements in your area you may need to consult with a contractor. Insulated siding might be an option, or possibly, depending on the size of the room, you could possibly add a layer of  insulated sheathing on the inside then cover it with whatever you like, drywall, cedar planking.

The Insulating Sheathing shown below comes in different thicknesses and different R values depending on your needs. The product carried in your state may vary from the picture below.
