KILZ CLEAN START Primer w/ Zero VOCs

Hello DIYers and Contractors,

Thanks for taking time to learn about new products in the Paint Department.

I’m PatInPaint and I have just reviewed a coming addition to The Home Depot’s lineup of quality primers … Kilz Clean Start.

It contains zero volatile organic compounds (VOCs), so this new primer is appropriately identified by the unique “green” label ... it should start showing up in your stores this spring.

Like most primers, Clean Start is fast drying (topcoat in about an hour), water clean-up, and will accept either water-based or oil-based paint as a topcoat.

KILZ CLEAN START seals, primes and blocks many light stains including rust, grease, ink, and pencil. I recommend you clean heavy stains, before priming, for best results.

You may use this primer on most interior and exterior surfaces including woodwork, drywall, plaster, paneling, masonry, and brick. KILZ CLEAN START is not recommended on flooring.

So, when you want a "green" primer, think Clean Start, from Kilz.

GREEN NOTE: Clean Start may be tinted, but many universal colorants contain VOCs. Tinting may also thin the product and reduce stain blocking ability.
