Kitchen Faucet

I installed a kitchen faucet, following the directions included.  I now have water hammer.  I have turned off the water, run the tap until empty, then turned the water on.  Still have hammer.  Anyone know how to get rid of this?

Hi Andymug,

The new faucet is allowing a higher flow rate than the old one which was restricted by mineral deposits.

This higher flow, when shut off suddenly, causes the hammering.

You've drained the system to restore the air cushion, and no luck.

What is your water pressure at the inlet to your house? High water pressure will cause hammering.

Consider using a pressure reducer at the water inlet or installing a hammer arrestor in the system.
