Hey Jardinera24.

Moss  will grow when there is the presence of acidic soil, shade and excessive moisture. There are products made to kill moss in the lawn but it will ultimately come back if other measures are not taken.

I am a tree guy and I know of the amazing trees that you all grow in Oregon. Although I will never suggest cutting down trees, the best way to cure any yard of moss is to get it more sunlight. You could also throw down some Lime which is good for the grass but this will only delay the moss. If you are near the coast (zone 8), you might want to try a shade tolerant grass like Zoysia grass. There are many, really good shade loving Hybrid Zoysia's that are ideal for areas shady enough to grow moss.

What type of grass are you growing there now?

Hit me back here and we can discuss possible options.
