Mini rose bush

I recently received a mini rose bush for Mother's Day I water and give it sun light like the direction say but it looks like it's dying. At first I had it inside but I don't think it was getting enough light so I put it outside for a few hours and it still looks like it's dying. I have it in the same pot that it came in could that be the problem? Please help

Hi Tabassi88,

I hope that your Mother's Day was a pleasant one!

Many gift flowers have a pot that is wrapped in foil for decoration. That foil will not allow for drainage and can cause stress to your plant from over watering. Be sure to remove the foil, or at least provide drainage through the foil by piercing the bottom of the foil, allowing the water to escape.

Mini Roses are quite capable of surviving outdoors, when planted in the ground. Be sure to plant it in loamy soil and keep it watered, especially for the first growing season.

Treat your mini rose as you would any other rose for many years of enjoyment.

Thank you for asking,

-Travis
