Moaning water pipe

My main shut off valves broke due to high water pressure.  I had the valve located before the water meter and the valve located after the water meter replaced and had a pressure regulator installed right after the valve located before the meter - all of this is located in the basement.  Now, when I flush the toilet on the 2nd floor, there is a moaning coming from the pipes in the wall (not from the fill valve in the toilet).  I have never had moaning pipes prior to the valve replacement and regulator installation.  Is the moaning pipe related to that work that was done?  If so, what can be done?  If not, what should be checked and done?

Hello JoanR, and welcome to the community!

It sounds like the pressure regulator valve is set too high. My suggestion is for you contact the plumber that did the work and have them test the pressure to diagnose the problem. Let us know what they find out.
