Outdoor light post....

I recently purchased two light posts and hardware to install on top of a concrete pier. When I received the pier mount hardware, it seems much too big to fit inside the light posts! I will assume with a big enoug hammer I can force the base mounts into the posts, but.... has anyone used HomeDepot's lite posts and mounts??

Hi cober57 and thanks for your question.  Im sorry to say that the pier bases are made to mount post lanterns so they are the same size as a post.  Post lights with posts are normally mounted in concrete and a pier base is used to mount the post light on a wall etc.  I hope this helps.   Stukas

Thanks for the reply, this is a bit frustrating as the Home Depot people, as well as the description on the internet mention using this option when burying the lamp post is not an option!!  I fixed the problem, built my own:) thanks again. Hope I can get a refund on all my purchases.
