POINTED DOWELS

THE LEGION PUTS 900 FLAGS ON VETERAN'S GRAVES (450, TWICE A YEAR) AND THE POINTS ON THE 3/8" DOWELS WEAR, SHEAR & BREAK.

WHAT IS AN INEXSPENSIVE SOLUTION TO RE-POINTING 450 FLAGS TWICE A YEAR?

I'VE SEEN A DRILL POWERED PENCIL SHARPENER ON THE WEB BUT NOT IN PERSON & DON'T KNOW IT WOULD EVEN WORK OR HOW MANY DOWELS I COULD SHARPEN / SHARPENER BEFORE IT'S UNSERVICEABLE.

IDEAS PLEASE?

First, AirWarrior, Thank You for honoring our Veterans!

While a Scout Master for six-years, I made certain that our Troop participated in placing flags.

I've looked for simple solutions in our product offering, and we do have several hand-held pencil sharpeners that would require a bit of hand-work and might be a bit slow.

I even thought we might have a Dremel attachment, but unfortunately did not locate one.

So, even though I dislike sending you off-site for help, it appears that your best option may be a heavy duty electric pencil sharpener from an office supply store.

These will make quick-work of your project and should help prevent breaking off tips.

Again, thanks for honoring our Veterans!
