Painted room, came out too dark

Painted a room and it came out too dark.  Any suggestions on toning it down without repainting the whole room?

Short of repainting, there's no way to change the color of the walls.  Maybe lighter color furniture or flooring?

Buy glaze and tint it with the paint you originally used. Then rag it on or sponge it on, you well get an interesting pattern and lighten up the color at the same time!

Absolutely sldion50,

You can change the lighting in your room from Soft White to Daylight.

Soft White casts a yellow-red color which tends to make paint look darker.

Daylight is full-spectrum light which brightens the room and makes your color appear more like the color cards used to select color.

Start with the room you just painted and replace all the bulbs.

Once you see the difference this makes, I'm certain you'll want to change the bulbs throughout your home.

Your local Electrical Associate can show you Daylight bulbs to match your existing light fixtures ... take your bulbs with you to the store.
