Painting and taping and seperating colors / leaving unpainted boarders

26 ft. walls plus 13 ft. vaulted ceilings. Need to know how to seperate colors and lay down / remove level, crisp paint lines and leave aprox. 18" wide unpainted boarder in center of walls.

3M blue painter's tape.  Draw a level line and apply your tape.

Welcome to the community:smileyhappy:

Try this after painting you base (main) color:

  1. Using a mechanical pencil to lightly draw the 18" lines for the separate color.
  2. Apply the Edge Lock tape described by adam444 just slightly above the pencil line. Repeat this with the otherwise of the 18" space.
  3. Press down the inside edge of the tape with a plastic putty knife or your finger nail.
  4. Paint the second color in the taped off space.
  5. Gently remove the tape before the paint has fully cured (within one hour of painting).
  6. Enjoy.
