Painting of kitchen cabinets

I want to paint my kitchen wooden cabinets.  Must I sand them first or is there another way?

Welcome to our community Emlopez1!

Thank you for your question! I have a question for you, are you sanding your cabinets because they are rough or are you just trying to prep the cabinets before painting?

If your cabinets are rough to the touch, you will need to smooth them down before painting them and the only way to do this is by sanding them.

If you cabinets are not rough and you are prepping, you can use a liquid sander instead of sandpaper. This product will degloss paint and varnish and will also remove grease, grime and wax. While using this product you will want to wear safety gloves, protective eyewear and a mask over your mouth. You will apply this with a paper towel or lint-free rag.
