Painting outdoor PVC

Hi,

I need to paint an already built, PVC Little Free Library. This is a project that will be outdoors upon completion.

What kind of primer & paint do I need for PVC? Are there steps I need to take to prep the surface? Thanks!

acd2862,

RustOleum Universal spray cans or 2X spray cans will both bond directly to PVC material without a primer. Both will give a durable, brush stroke free finish.

Hope this helps.

Hello acd2862!

Another option would be Zinsser 123, a water-based primer that is suitable for application to both vinyl and aluminum.

This primer offers you the opportunity to "use any topcoat" approximately an hour after priming.

Your Paint Associate can tint your primer to be similar to your new color.

This allows you to apply your first coat of color while priming.

This product also comes in a spray can.
