Painting steel entry door

We have a steel entry door (with the decorative glass in the middle). We hung it up with out painting or treating it with anything because we couldn't figure out what color to paint it. We are now ready to proceed with painting and want to know what the best type of paint to use and how to go about prepping door and where to start.

Hello DawnMLong!

Use Mold Armor House Wash to clean the door and allow to dry for about six-hours.

Metal doors are best when primed first with a product like Rust-Oleum Clean Metal Primer.

This creates a durable, long-lasting base that will accept paint well.

After the primer dries two-hours, paint with one of Rust-Oleum's ready-mix colors in flat, semi-gloss, or gloss.

The number of Rust-Oleum colors is limited. If you prefer a color other than those available from Rust-Oleum, consider using Behr Oil-based Semi-Gloss ... it is interior/exterior and may also be painted over the metal primer.
