Biennial plants like foxglove bloom on their 2 year of life. A biennial completes its lifecycle in 2 years. This means that foxglove will produce roots, leaves and stems its first year, die back or go dormant in the winter to then come back in the spring for its second year where it will bloom and then die for good in the winter. This plant will reseed itself however and start the 2 year process all over again.
