Pink to purple paint

My daughter chose a pale pink paint color for her bedroom and now would like a pale purple. We bought two gallons of the pink already but we haven't used any. I saw on other responses on here that I can take my paint in and have it re-tinted (hooray! And thank you!). Now I'm just wondering if it is going to be possible to go from pink to purple very easily. What are your thoughts?

ace01,

Pink to lavender is doable. Pink to purple , not a chance!  The pink will most likely have been made in an Ultra Pure White base paint which has its full compliment of white pigment. This large amount of white cannot be overcome to get to a dark, strong purple.

Sorry for the bad news :(

Hello ace01!

As Ordjen suggests, white base colors do not easily change to very dark, deep base colors.

However, I noticed in your language that you refer to "a pale purple" as your new color.

While it may prove difficult, I would recommend at least trying.

You may have to select a lighter purple.

And, ultimately we may not be able to save your paint.

But service is our priority at The Home Depot and we will be very happy to try!
