Quartz countertops and undermount sink

I am wondering what adhesive I should use for quartz countertops and how to install the under mount sink. Thanks

Hi Reeves19,

A two part epoxy is traditionally used to attach the sink to the counter top. This is usually the same adhesive installers use to secure the sections of counter top together.

Along with the epoxy a bead of silicone caulk is used to seal around the joint and help secure the sink. The silicone is what really holds the sink in place.

To glue the sink in place, apply dabs of epoxy 6-8 inch apart around the sink flange, away from the lip; next apply the silicone caulk around the sink flange lip to make a good seal when the sink is installed.

Place a 2 x 4 across the counter above the sink and use clamps through the drain holes to hold the sink in place while the adhesive sets.

Allow 24 hours the caulk and epoxy to set up fully.

Mechanical sink mounts can also be used; in this case studs with female thread are installed in the underside of the counter top and the sink in secured with clips and screws.
