Welcome to our community Knightj!

Thank you for your question!

The actual removal of the popcorn texture is pretty simple. You will want to make sure that you cover EVERYTHING in the room. Cover the walls and the floor and make sure the plastic is attached well. You will be using water to soften the popcorn texture, so laying down rosin paper will absorb some over spray. You will want to wear eye protection, a face mask and clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

After you have everything covered, spray a small section of the ceiling with a pump sprayer and while it is still wet, scrape that section. We sell a scraper specifically for removing texture, but any scraper will do. The neat thing about the special scraper is that you can attach an extension pole to it and it is a bit wider than most scrapers. If you don't use an extension pole, you will want to get on a ladder to do the scraping. Make sure you don't stretch too far while on the ladder, we don't want any accidents! :smileysurprised:

After you have removed all the texture, you can paint the ceiling.

If you have any more questions, please let us know!
