Replacing a switched duplex receptacle with a USB Charger/Duplex receptacle.

I just bought a couple of Leviton USB Charger/Duplex Receptacle to install at my house.  I intend to replace an older standard duplex receptacle, but it's a switched receptacle.  The top receptacle is controlled by a light switch while the bottom receptacle is always powered.  I don't see how the Leviton USB/Duplex receptacle can do this.  Does anyone know how to handle this situation or if there is a product that allows for this?

Thanks!

If I'm understanding you correctly, you want to switch the receptacle but leave the USB charging portion always on.  Unfortunately that isn't an options with this device.  You may want to look for others but I don't think any of the USB charging devices offer that.

If you really need the switched receptacle, you could consider removing the old junction box and installing a 2-gang (double) junction box.  Then you could have the switched receptacle and the USB charger.
