Replacing metal clad windows with vinyl clad

I'm looking to be a homeowner, and just noticed that some of the windows in our prospective new house need to be replaced.

1. How hard is it to remove and replace a window?

2. How do you make sure you have the right measurements?

Hey julesybugs.

Adding new windows to a house makes it look like new. Replacing new windows is easy to do but it is also a 2 person project. You can take a measurement from the inside of the window frames, but the best way to get a true measurement is to take off the mouldings around the window inside the house. Measure the top and bottom of the window side to side and then measure the left and right of the window up and down. Take these 4 measurements just to make sure the windows are square.

Bring in these measurements to the guys in my millworks department and let them get you a quote for some replacement windows. The experts in the millworks department can also answer any other questions you might have. Thanks again for your question and I hope you will continue to trust us with any other do it yourself questions you may have.
