Roanoke 48" fan light kit

Just completed install of fan model # 162 537; lights don't work.  Fan works fine, all connections checked and double checked.  light bulbs all are fine.  switch does not seem to be getting power when check with tester.

Hello Chrisem,

Thanks for your question and welcome to the community.

If the fan motor and functions work fine as you state but the lights don't, then the culprit could likely be a bad light pull switch for your Hampton Bay Roanoke Ceiling Fan.

This can be easily replaced by a replacement switch, sold at your local Home Depot store and shown below.

Westinghouse Fan Light Switch with Pull Chain

However, you can contact Hampton Bay directly at the number shown below if you need more troubleshooting tips.

Before contacting Hampton Bay, be sure all electrical connections are wired correctly. The solution could be just the hot lead coming from the switch or above in the ceiling canopy not connected properly.

Let us know if you have any further questions,

Thank you, yes everything is connected correctly, there is power thru the 9 prong plug into the light kit, but no power to blue and white light connectors.  This is a new fan, will Hampton Bay replace the switch?  Hopefully for free?

Thank you for updating us Chrisem,

Hampton Bay generally sells their replacement parts, but my only advice would be to call them directly to see if they can send you one gratis. Just as important, they can see if they can get you parts even your local Home Depot store doesn't carry, like the 9-pin connector piece.

If not, it's about a $4-5 dollar switch replacement by Westinghouse at your local Home Depot store.
