Rust Oleum General Purpose Spray Paint on bare wood

I have a little problem with this paint and the bare wood. There are spots where the grain of the wood is in a certain direction. On those spots the primer sticks perfectly, but as soon as I apply the color coat, it just disappears and leaves ugly grey primer spots.

Any solution?

Hermine,

It sounds as if you may need to build up the primer film. The paint should not disappear into the wood right through the primer. This is the main function of primer - to seal the wood!

I would suggest putting a couple more thin coats of primer on the wood first.

Hope this helps
