SWAMP COOLER TROUBLESHOOTING

I installed a new water pump in my swamp cooler and it works but water is not coming out of the tubes to wet the pads.  I know its working because I took the hose off of it and water squirted in my face.  so why is the water not coming out the tubes and wetting the pads?

thanks for anyone that can help me

Hi Julsbow,

Swamp cooler pumps are available in different CFM (Cubic Foot Per Minute) flow ratings. If the new pump has a cfm rating which is too low, then insufficient water will flow to the pads. Check you pump and make sure it is the proper pump for your swamp cooler.

If the pump is OK, check the hoses for obstructions, mineral deposits will built up in the lines restricting flow. If the lines are old and discolored replace them, they may be split and leaking or have loose fittings allowing leakage. Vinyl tubing is very inexpensive and replacing the lines is a simple job.
