We installed these locks last summer on several of our rental units, and I can honestly say we love them.  They are a Landlords dream, as it alleviates the continual need to purchase new locks, or having to get them re-keyed when ever the inevitable changes in Tenancy take place.

It resolves issues of missing, lost or stolen keys along with alleviates any concerns regarding how many copies might be floating around out there.   Simple, effective and effortless~ making this a  pleasant task to do now.

Hello Shesalonewolf, and welcome to the community!

I'm sorry to say but it seems that Ingersoll-Rand, the parent company of Schlage, has decided to discontinue the SecureKey type of locking mechanism as of December 31, 2011, due to legal matters. You can read the press release here.

Home Depot still carries the Kwikset brand of quick change re-keying locks in the store.
