Seal/grout/seal natural stone backsplash

hi there- a quick Q about a natural stone (mosaic style) backsplash we just had installed. It was sealed then grouted. I'm wondering if I should re-seal myself, just to make sure it's nice and tight. If so, how long to wait until the grout is fully dry (48 hrs? 72?) And if so, is this highly recommended or just a 'nice to have'? thanks!

Hello Lysander.  Welcome to the Community!

If an epoxy grout was used, no sealing would be needed.  If a grout additive such as AquaTight was used instead of water, again no grout sealer would be needed.

If just a grout and water mix was used, then after 72 hours of dry time you should apply a grout sealer.  Whether you just apply it to grout lines or seal the entire surface is up to you.  The stone has already been sealed once.
