Hi there Patty22,

I’m Jen, from The Home Depot.  Welcome to the community!

The depth of the base will vary depending on the weight of the items that you will be putting in the shed along with the depth of the paver that you select.

The more weight that you intend to put in the shed the deeper you will go to help support the weight.  Typically for a 7x7 foot shed, you should only need to dig 1-2” below the depth of your paver.

The back of the Paver Base bags has a chart.  This chart will explain how many bags you will need for the square footage of your project.  You will want to add a layer of sand as well.  The bags have all of that information on them in the stores.

Here is an example:

I suggest that you stop by your local store and tell a garden associate what your project will be and they can help you select the proper paver and base for your shed.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.  We are here to help.
