Sprinkler issue

My sprinkler valves do not turn on if water pressure is high. Do I need a timer that gives more amps to activate the valves or what is my solution.

Hi Gorg,

Welcome to The Community! We're happy to hear from you.

You mentioned high water pressure. How high is it? I have about 160 p.s.i. on my front spigot that is positioned before the house pressure regulator. It's 80p.s.i. on the other spigots. I am not running a sprinkler system, so I have not experienced a problem like you are describing.

If your pressure is too high, install a
pressure reducer in line before the control box.

3/4 in. x 3/4 in. Brass Water Pressure Reducing Valve

Use a
pressure gauge to determine what the pressure is and if it needs to be reduced.

3/4 in. Plastic Water Pressure Test Gauge

I don't think more amps will be the solution. Double check the electrical connections so that the valves are operating properly.

Looking forward to hearing from you again,

-Travis
