Stainless steel sinks

I have a white film that is on the stainless steel sinks.  Can not get it off.  I have tried everything that I can think of and still not luck.  What else will take the film off?  They are old sinks.  Vinegar, window clean, soft scrub.  Can not think of any that I might have missed.  Looks good when it is wet but soon after it dries, the white fil is bacl...

It could be a buildup of minerals.  Is the water "hard" in your area?  Have you tried something like CLR?

 

For scrubbing stainless I think Barkeeper's Friend does a wonderful job.  Just the they're ordinary cleanser in the yellow can.  Combine it with a blue Scotchbright pad.
