Stair railing

We are in the process of purchising an A-frame home. Our concern is the height of the railing in the loft and down the open staicase, because we have a 3 year old grandson who can easily go over the rail. Would acrylic panels be an inexpensive fix for this problem? and how are they installed?

Hey 42niks,

Thanks for your question.

Depending on how the railings are already built and how you would build the supports for the acrylic panels will determine how and what supplies to use.

As with safety and anything in life, don't go cheap. Use the thicker, non-yellowing and sturdier Lexan versus the inferior plexiglass.

It's up to you how and where it will be placed.

Let us know if you have any further questions,

Joseph
