Toilet Replacement Rough-in Question

I'd like to replace a very old toilet. The measurement from the finished wall (no baseboard, etc) to the flange bolts is 11.5" on one side and 11.75" on the other side.

Can I use a 12" rough-in toilet or do I need to get a 10"?

Hello DickP, and welcome to the community!

I recommend you go with the 12 inch rough in size.

Hi DickP,

To expand upon Angelo's' comments, all new toilets have a slotted area at the mounting points, the manufacturers are aware that since homes are man made variances in the plumbing installation will occur. The slotted opening allows for these variances. A 12 inch rough in toilet should work fine in your application.
