Trending In The Aisles: Kohler Touchless Toilet Flush Kit

Many of at us at some point in time have used a toilet away from home, and those toilets were most likely, touchless, meaning that after we did our “business”, we got up or walked away from the toilet, and the toilet flushed without us having to touch any button or lever.

So this technology is not new, it’s been around for a few years, even the faucets in those restrooms are triggered by motion sensors, which is all good, lessening the transmission of germs. Kohler commissioned a study of 800 U.S. consumers and found that over half of the people surveyed are paranoid about germs in the bathroom. And when looking at that same sample group but focusing on moms with children, that number jumps up to about two-thirds, Kohler says.

It’s makes perfect sense to protect you and your family from germs as much as possibly in your own home by installing a Kohler Touchless Toilet Flush Kit. No touch means fewer germs to pick up or leave behind. To flush, simply hold your hand over the tank. Sure the kids will want to play around with it until the newness wears off, but you knew that was going to happen—as you pass your hand over the sensor it flushes, look it's magic!

FEATURES

  • Retrofits a standard toilet to touchless flush.
  • Flush is activated by a no-touch sensor mounted inside the tank.
  • Powered by 4 AA batteries (included).

  • Works with most canister and flapper toilets.
  • Not compatible with dual-flush, top-mount flush, pressure-assist, or ballcock valve toilets.
  • Simple installation taking most people less than 20 minutes.

  • Trip lever hole cover included.

  • Optional hand indicator decal included (indicates where the touchless module is located inside of tank).
  • When batteries are low, the unit will beep five times at half-second intervals when activated to indicate it's time to replace them.

How does this "magic" work, well the touchless module projects a field through the top of the tank lid that senses your hand, causing the toilet to flush,  pretty neat.
