Troubleshooting Kenmore 790 range sparking

I turned on the two large elements of my Kenmore 790.94002600 only to have them both spark. Now both will not turn off. I have unplugged the oven, but am unsure what the source of this sparking could be and what might need to be replaced.

Thanks!

Hi Rellis,

We all like to try to do repairs ourselves to save time and money.

However there are times when we need to call in a professional when the risk exceeds the benefits of doing it ourselves.

Electric ovens and cooktops use 220 volts of power, a voltage that can cause serious injury.

You were wise to unplug the unit. I would call an appliance repair service to look at your range.
