Veranda lattice barriers

We need ideas to make two ~3'x5' simple movable barriers to hang on front and rear doors to keep our cats inside when we are airing/cooling the house in the evening and don't want cats to go outside.  Veranda lattice would work fine except we need ideas how to hang them temporarily and prevent the cats from pushing their way out - and the neighbor's 18 yr old friendly cat from pushing her way in.

I have a friend who did the same thing and they worked out well.

They simply made a frame out of the vinyl lattice caps - attached with screws on each corner.

Cutting the lattice so that it fits tight within the frame is the most important step. If the frame/lattice is just slightly wider than the opening it should fit snug behind the center part of the door jamb.  If it fits tight then even an 18 year old friendly cat can't push their way in.

Thanks!  What type of blade should we use to cut the lattice and the lattice caps?  This is a DIY project, may not be easy to cut a good straight edge on the lattice.
