Want to build up crumbling concret porch steps.

I live in Michigan, and I have had these cement porch steps for only a few years. They are already falling apart. I was thinking about using a type of patio pavers and/or a type of composite stone. Any ideas?

This could be caused from using a poor concrete mixture or inproper curing. You want to use a hardener and densifier like the Armor L3000. This will fill in the pores with CSH (CSH is what gives concrete much of its strength during the curing process). Once sealed with the L3000 you can leave the stairs as-is or you can apply a coating or patio pavers. The key is to strengthen the steps though before applying anything over them.

I purchased the steps already formed, aka I bought premade steps. Because I live in the thumb area in Michigan, we have very harsh winters, so there is a lot of expanding and contracting, and the use of salt. Would this be a problem with the advise you already gave?
