Water in my post holes

I am building a fence, and in two of my post holes I have water.  I have been setting my posts in gravel, but am considering setting these two posts in a 5 gal bucket of cement.  Don't know the best answer.

Depening on where you are at in the country, you may want to consider using concrete for all posts.  Save yourself the bucket, just drop your post into the ground and pour in a bag of concrete.  You will be fine.

Welcome to the How-To-Community jad and bgagne31.

Jad I couldn’t agree more with bgagne31, you definitely may want to consider using concrete for all posts.

For this application, dry pour method is acceptable.  The only advice  I would  add, from my previous experience, is to mix the corner posts and let them set first ,then go ahead and dry hole the line posts.

And YES i agree again :smileyhappy:with bgagne31.Depending on your location you also may want to set your posts bellow the frost line, if freezing is present in your area.

If you’re interested, more info about the frost line and concrete footings can be found HERE.

Hope this helps and good luck with your project.
