What In The World Is a Basin Wrench?

Anyone who has installed or replaced a bath or kitchen faucet knows it can sometimes be a very frustrating job. Trying to turn and tighten the retaining nuts can be almost impossible.

Enter the Basin Wrench, a tool designed to help you work in hard to reach places. Its spring-loaded swivel head slips over the nut and the spring tension holds it in place, then you can use the T handle to turn the nut. Some models have a telescoping handle for an extra long reach. The head has teeth like a pipe wrench to grasp not only nuts but pipes as well. The spring action allows you to ratchet the head over the nut or pipe for multiple turns.

A basin wrench can be used for other jobs as well, the long handle and swivel heads allows you to reach any number of fasteners in hard to reach places and work at odd angles or positions such as under a sink.

You may not use it very often but when you do, it worth its weight in Gold!

The next time you change out a faucet, do not forget to buy a Basin Wrench, it’s a plumbers best friend.
