What can I use to coat manmade acrylic marble?

I have a couple of those 1970's era manmade marble countertops.  I don't want to replace them right now (until I've finished paying off financing of granite counters in kitchen) and am looking for an inexpensive way to update them for a couple years.

Welcome to our community Efhughes,

My name is Christine and I work in the paint department at Home Depot.

An easy way to update your countertops is by painting them. Since you are working with an acrylic countertops you will want to work with a product that is designed specifically for that.

Rust-Oleum has a countertop coating that works very well. You have 16 colors to choose from that will need to be tinted at the paint desk. This product will stick to acrylic without the need for priming. Here is a general overview for this product directly from the Rust-Oleum website.

Please let us know if you have any more questions!
