Hello fmedina.  Welcome to the Community!

There are 2 ways.  To completely shut off power to the breaker box, you would need to have the meter pulled outside your home, or if your service box is more than 5 feet from the outside meter there should be a shut-off switch.  Typically you would simply turn off the main breaker which is usually located at the top of the breaker box.  This will turn off power to the grid of connectors that individual breakers connect to.  It will NOT however kill power to the main breaker terminals and wires leading into the box from outside.

As a general rule I do not recommend that homeowners remove the service entrance cover and work on the box internals.  This work is best left to professionals.  Please note that you should never replace a tripping breaker with one of a higher amperage unless you rewire the entire circuit.  Breakers protect the wiring from catching fire.  Wire size and breaker size go hand in hand.
