Where would I find the model # on a ceiling fan?

We just moved intoa house that has a Hampton Bay ceiling fan, but there is no instruction book with it.  Where would I find the model # on the fan?  Also, there is a small switch that I think turns the fan blades in either a summer or winter mode.  But I don't which way to turn the switch.  Can you help me?    Thanks.

Hi sue-will,

There is a sticker on the top of the motor housing, near where the support rod enters the fan motor that has the numbers that you need.

If there is not a Model Number, there is probably a 12-digit UPC or 6-digit SKU number that can be deciphered by a home depot associate to identify your fan.

As for flow direction, fan blades moving the air directly downward is the summer mode. Pushing the air flow towards the ceiling is winter mode.

Thanks for asking. Welcome to The Community!!!
