Which air nailer should I buy to nail up pressure treated soffit boards for my outside breezeway? And, which is the appropriate nail to use? I will stain the soffits white and don't want rusty hail heads showing up. Thanks.

Hello mikehoransky.  Welcome to the Community!

Ideally, I would recommend a coil siding nailer for this task.

Framing nailers are more common though, and would work well for this application.  Even a roofing nailer would work.

Nails have to match the gun.  In addition, you will want either galvanized or stainless steel nails.  They should be sized to penetrate into the soffit framing about 1 1/4" to 1 1/2".

I do not recommend brad or finish nailers for this task though.  These are not for large exterior tasks, and the nail heads are too small to hold the soffit boards properly.

Chris.
