Hello GEehhfahi.  Welcome to the Community!

A hot water heating system will use a standard 24 volt feed to a thermostat using only 2 wires.  As such, even the most simple mechanical heat-only thermostats will work just fine.  These, as shown below, can be bought for between $14 and $30.

If you want more flexibility in terms of added features, then digital thermostat models with programmable features are available.  These allow you to set different temperatures depending on the day.  The more individual days you can adjust, the higher the thermostat's price.  The digital display size will also impact the price as well.

Lastly, there are thermostats that allow you to control your homes temperature remotely using smart phone apps.  Naturally, this feature adds to the cost of the unit as well.

So it is not so much as what I recommend as what features you want to have your thermostat capable of doing.  If you just want to set a home heat temperature and forget it, then the simple models like the two shown above will work just fine.

Thanks,
Chris.
