Why Wait For Lead Test Results?

When buying a home, I commonly employ an independent inspector as a second pair of eyes to look for any problems or hazards I may have overlooked. Historically, lead testing required a lengthy timeline to send off a sample and wait days to get results. Now you or your inspector can conduct lead tests on-site and get the results before you finish your walk-through.

Klean Strip recently introduced a lead test kit which allows you to conduct on-site tests and get results in less than 15-minutes. The new kit is EPA Recognized for use on drywall, plaster, wood and ferrous metal surfaces and is ETV Tested. It allows you to detect lead and lead chromate in all layers of paint by changing colors when the test sample is mixed into the sample solution. You simply wait the specified time for the color indicator to work and then compare the test sample to the color chart (included). It will also determine if EPA regulated lead based paint is not present.

Each kit contains six tests. Look for it near the solvents in the Paint Department.
